Sandro Botticelli was an Italian Quattrocento painter, born in Florence in 1445.

Botticelli was the favourite painter at the Court of Lorenzo de Medici, at a time of maximum importance for the birth of the arts in 15th century Florence, known as the Florentine Golden Age.

A Botticelli was very good at female portraits, especially mythological goddesses and their madonnas. He does not neglect the mastery of perspective, an excellent application of color and the magnificent achievement of volumes.

Sandro Botticelli was one of the first artists of his time to paint large non-religious works.

His main technique in his works was the drawing, which were marked and full of wavy lines, which gave the sensation of moving images.
