Description

Bath time, Sorolla

Sorolla's bath time is a sunny picture of the Valencian coast. In 1894 the painter travelled to Paris, where he developed a pictorial style called "luminism", which would be characteristic of his work from then on. He began to paint outdoors, mastering light and combining it with everyday scenes and landscapes of Mediterranean life.

This type of scene is Sorolla's most personal contribution and in them he displays his virtuosity in representing the most mobile of all possible scenarios: water, always in movement, with transparencies, reflections, reverberations... the choice of a high viewpoint that suppresses the sky and the horizon is undoubtedly a resource to avoid glare and to better analyse the nuances of colour into which the blinding light of the beach is broken down: white, pink, mauve, blue.

In Martí Arte you can find different reproductions of Sorolla of high quality and in different sizes. We are experts in reproduction of works of art from different periods and styles.
