Description

Bedroom in Arles, Vincent Van Ghogh

This work of the famous Dutch painter recreates the first room that Van Gogh had, the first version of the work "Bedroom in Arles" was painted by the artist while he was in that city in 1888 and deteriorated in a flood, which led the painter to create two other almost identical works.

The most outstanding features of this painting by Van Gogh are its bright brushstrokes of reds and greens, blues and oranges and yellows and violets, (complementary colours to each other). The idea that the artist wanted to transmit was of calm and rest, with the use of blue and green tones, and the sparse furniture of the perfectly ordered and neat room, although the final result with the use of pure colors, without shadows, the thick outline that surrounds the objects as well as its inclined walls that contribute a peculiar perspective, transmit a certain anguished feeling.

This work was considered by the painter to be his best work painted in Arles.
