This surrealist work in oil on panel represents Gala (the painter's wife and muse) sleeping naked. The flight of a bee around the pomegranate, represented under the woman's body, provokes a dream where a fish emerges from inside a pomegranate, and from its open mouth two leaping tigers and a rifle, drawing an arc to the sleeping figure. In this painting the author explores Freudian theories about dreams and their meanings.
